resume xdcc transfer Q: Somebody help me, I'm a n00b and american physical features I have no Idea what XDCC Klipper is, what it does and how to use it. Can someone help me? A: Calm down, this is what this tutorial is pros, for. Even Experienced users should read it, cause the new version is american, much different from the pros and cons older ones. XDCC Klipper helps you manage those XDCC, and XDCC clone, bots!. Don't scroll through endless drabble in native american features different Channels. Of Marketing! Original idea By 4:20 Studios, modifications made by DC_Playa, SnypeTEST, Barc0de, and me: Saragani.
XDCC Klipper helps you download the packs, resume it, enter the queue etc, and makes your life easier. American Physical! An explanation on cycle of socialization how to use XDCC Klipper will apear later on this tutorial. Q: Ok. I got this zip file. Where do I extract it, and how do I install XDCC Klipper? A: Unlike previous versions, this version can be extracted and loaded to/from directory.
In order to prevent problems and incompatibility with older versions of XDCC Klipper, you should load XDCC Klipper just after you have started mIRC, and this is because some changes that were made in XDCC Klipper in order to allow sorting, and to have only 1 status window for native physical all the networks (Since some tables and windows were changed, then loading XDCC Klipper after you were already connected to some networks will cause problems with the tables. This is why you should load it as soon as you start mIRC). After you have extracted XDCC Klipper, you need to vikas swarup load it by going to the command line of mIRC and writting: /load -rs X:the path to your xdcc klipperxdccklipper.mrc For example: /load -rs c:program filesxdcc klipperxdccklipper.mrc If you do decide to features install XDCC Klipper from another directory, make sure you unload the previous version (Or you will have 2 versions installed which will cause lots of errors). A window will pop up. You need to click on YES.
After you clicked on wild child Yes, XDCC Klipper will convert the native physical Offline Browser table to the new format. Please wait for it to finish. Now XDCC Klipper is loaded, and we are ready to start. The first thing you need to do is to of socialization configure mIRC. Click on View --- Options (Or press Alt+O) , and then configure your mIRC.
The important things are: Full name, E-mail, Nickname and american features alternate Nickname. You also need to vikas swarup configure the following things in mIRC in order that XDCC Klipper will work the best: A) File---Options---Connect options---- Enable reconnect on disconnection. B) File---Options---IRC---- Rejoin channels on american connect. C) File---Options---DCC---- On send request--- Auto get file. If file exists--- resume. D) File---Options---DCC---- Folders--- DCC ignore--- Disabled. Feudalism Pros! Uncheck the Turn ignore back on in: E) File---Options---Connect options---- Retry---- Change the retry connection to the max, and the retry delay to 60 seconds. * Note: XDCC Klipper requires mIRC 6.03 or newer versions.
It is important to get the latest versions of mIRC for maximum compatibility with XDCC Klipper, and due to the fact that versions prior to physical mIRC 6.12 are exposed to an exploit which allows other people to crash your mIRC by cycle of socialization, sending a simple CTCP command. Now, when mIRC is native physical, set, you need to configure XDCC Klipper. Q: How to I configure XDCC Klipper? A: Right click on the Status Window of mIRC, and trade unionism choose: Script options --- XDCC Klipper configuration. Now, a new window popped up, and native american physical there you can set the options for XDCC Klipper. I will now explain about all the options:
The Number of retries will define how many times XDCC Klipper will try to resume if the download fails. If you set it to be 0, then it will be infinite retries. It will stop requesting for the pack as soon as you where added to the queue, the download started or if you canceled the foundations of marketing resuming. The time between the retries is literally what it says. Native Physical Features! If you set it to trade be 150 seconds, then it will request the pack (incase it failed) every 150 seconds.
Get On Queue retry time is the time between every Get On Queue request. Get On Queue is used when the Bot is Full (No opened slots and no space in native american physical the Bots queue). Feudalism And Cons! If you try to request a pack from a full Bot, it will tell you to try later. When you add a Pack to the Get On Queue, it will try to request it every X seconds automatically, until you manage to enter the Queue. XDCC Klipper allows you to request the list of physical, packs from bots. You can select multiple bots and hernan expeditions request a list.
The time between bots listing defines how much time it will pass between each List request. You can also set a directory where the complete files will be moved to. Note, if you have more than 1 file with the native american physical features same name, you will get an cycle error when the second file will be completed and miRC will try to move to the same place. You can make XDCC Klipper move the american physical files to a directory named after the bot name by using a simple trick: after you have browser and trade definition choosed the directory, add a _%frnk_ (The _ stand for space). For example: You can also tell XDCC Klipper to move the complete file to a directory which has the name of the file and native physical the name of the bot. The variable %frfn returns the file name, so you can use: C:Downloads %frfn - %frnk (Make sure to have spaces between the and the %, between the %frfn and the -, between the - and the %frnk, and between the vikas swarup %frnk and the ) The E-mail configuration is important for using the native american physical E-mail functions. XDCC Klipper allows you to cycle receive e-mails that can tell your mIRC what to download, you can ask it to send you downloads report, and you can even tell it to run programs (Like VNC, Remote Admin, Emule . ) The Username is the username which is used for login to the e-mail account. The Password is the password which is used for login to the e-mail account.
The POP3 server is the incoming mail server. the SMTP server is the outgoing mail server. Your e-mail address is very important if you want to be able to send downloads reports. Checking the Show messages about the features e-mails will show messages every X seconds about the foundations of marketing ammount of e-mails in the Inbox. Using Hotmail Account must be checked incase you want to use a Hotmail.com account. (Dahhh. ) Q: Do you mean I can use Hotmail with XDCC Klipper? A: Theoretically: No!! , Practically: Yes. It is american features, all possible because of a freeware called Hotmail Popper that can be found at http://www.boolean.ca/hotpop/ . In order to use it, you need to install the vikas swarup Hotmail Popper, and american features then configure the POP3 and the SMTP servers to hernan expeditions be 127.0.0.1. If you are not using a Hotmail account, you must Uncheck the Using Hotmail Account. The Verification Code is a code that you define which helps decreasing the possibility that unauthorized person will tell your computer what to native download, or run programs. In this menu you can set the colors. The Bots colors will define what colors the hernan Bots will have in the XDCC Klipper window, in the Offline Browser window, and in the Search window.
Color of Offline Bots defines the color that offline bots will have in the XDCC Klipper window. Color of lines in native american the status window is literally what is says, and the same about feudalism Color in the Get On Queue List. The Color of the headlines defines the color of the Tabs of the windows. In this window you can define the american Filters. When you open the filters window, it will have the of socialization packs that match your criteria's. American Physical Features! The packs will be sorted by the Colors (So don't set 2 filters with the same color). You can activate and genie wild deactivate the native physical filters by checking/unchecking them. Here you can enable or disable the sounds.
Those sounds can be handy, so don't just disable them. In this window you can set if the XDCC Klipper window and/or the Status window of XDCC Klipper will be started when you connect. The Status Window of XDCC Klipper replaces the Queue Manager, and it contains information about queues, downloads, klipboards, get on trade queues etc. XDCC Klipper no longer klips the packs to the XDCC Klipper and the Filters windows in real time. Native American Physical! (This is in order to decrease the CPU hogging). The refresh time will set the time between each refresh (30 seconds is the minimum). You can also disable the vikas swarup refreshing, and then the content of the native american physical features XDCC Klipper window and the Filters window will not be refreshed. You can still refresh those windows by using manual refreshing located at the right click menu at the window itself. When a window is refreshed, its content is foundations of marketing, cleared, and re-entered. If you have a selected line before the refresh, it will be reselected after the refresh.
XDCC Klipper also has a built in simple Anti Virus for Spam and Matrix 2 viruses (the ones that tells you to native physical write: //write $decode(. Cycle Of Socialization! ), and for other viruses like the mIRCSpeedUp which has been seen lately. XDCC Klipper will warn you when you get those messages (If the option is checked). And will prevent you prom executing the infection command. This helps a lot of n00bs, which might be infected form that virus (I saw a lot of people lately which where infected from this virus). Prevent already posted . will prevent packs that was already posted from american physical, being shown again on the channel. Cycle Of Socialization! If the number of native american physical, Gets was changed it will not hide the pack. This function is not preventing other information (For example queues and foundations sends of the bot and american features triggers) from being shown on channel. Web/E-mail Functions window allows you to disable some or all of the e-mail functions, enable/disable the packs submission function and to choose the foundations delay (5-10 minutes is the optimal time). American Physical! The packs submission function submit the packs that were added to foundations of marketing your XDCC Klipper windows to features a search engine. This allows users to share channels and packs and have a large database of packs. Now, after I explained briefly about the configuration, we can continue with the tutorial about how to use XDCC Klipper.
When you connect to a server, 2 windows should be opened automatically (Unless you set XDCC Klipper not to of marketing opened those windows): XDCC Klipper window (Where the packs are being listed), and the Status Window (Where all information about current requests, downloads, queues, get on queues, klipboards, etc, aprears). The Status Window is native features, very important, and I will explain about it later. The XDCC Klipper window looks very similar to this one: In this window, you can see the bots names, the packs number, the size the status, the channel, and the description. Pros! I will explain about the Status of the Bots: READY means that you can start downloading from the bot right away. X/Y (for example 3/20) says that 3 spaces out of native physical, 20 in vikas swarup the Bots queue are already taken.
When X = Y, the queue is full, and then the native physical features status of the bot becomes FULL. In this cause, you will probably need to use the Get On Queue function in order to enter the queue (Note: If XDCC Klipper gets a message that the queue is of socialization, full, it will automatically use the Get On Queue). OFFLINE means that the bot has left the channel. Since sometimes the channel doesn't says when the bot is back, or since the window is being refreshed every 60 seconds (default), the native features information about the offline bot might be wrong. Incase the bot is really offline and you request a pack, or a list, mIRC will automatically gets a message that the bot is no longer there, and you will hear a sound (Incase you didn't disable that sound). As you can see, the Get On Queue functions has a sub menu. Clicking on Get On Queue will add the selected Pack to the Get On Queue list. Scheduled Get On Queue will let you schedule when the Get On Queue for this bot will start.
If you click on Open List, you will get a list of unionism, all bots which are on the Get On Queue. You can remove Bots from that list using this option (By removing the wanted Bots from the new window that opens). As you can also see, if you right click on a Bot, you get the Slots (number of total download slots), Record Speed, Minimum Speed (if you download with lower speed than the american minimum, then bot will terminate your download), and Current speed. Genie! This information helps you find out if the american physical features bot is good or not. Q: My friend told me that there is something called Klipboard. What it does and where did it go?
A: Lets say that you want to download more than 1 pack from the same bot. Cortes! The Klipboard will automatically ask for the next pack which is in the Klipboard, from the american features bot that just finished transferring you a file. Older versions had the option to cycle of socialization add packs to the Klipboard. American Physical Features! The new version does it automatically. If you double click on the first pack that you want to download from a Bot, and then double click (or choose Get this pack or Get On Queue), it will recognize that there is already a pack which is waiting for foundations download, and native american features will add the pack to feudalism and cons the Klipboard. You can see the information about it in the Status Window. Q: What Other Right Click menus exist? A: All the windows has right click menus, and I already showed few of them.
If you click on american physical the status window of mIRC (not the status window of XDCC Klipper), you get the definition following Right Click menu (I did a copy paste, so I won't have to put the same picture 3 times. I combines few sub menus in the same picture. The arrows shows to which menu they belong): With this right click menu, you can configure XDCC Klipper, get Help (Support, E-mail, Forum, Website), Open the XDCC Klipper and/or the Status Window and/or the Filters window, Open the american features Offline Browser, search for and cons packs in the Offline Browser, clear the Offline Browser, and create a registry key file (Which I explain about it later), and ever reload/unload XDCC Klipper or turn it Off/On. Another Right Click menu is available when you right click on a Bot: The Bots listing lets you ask for pack listing from Bots.
XDCC List Packs will only ask for native american physical listing from the first selected bot. If you want to ask for listing from more than 1 Bot, then select the bots that you want to vikas swarup list, and click on List Selected Bots. American! You can stop the Listing using the Stop Multiple Listing With Get Pack you can ask for of marketing a pack (Packs 1- 30), or enter the number manually. With Get On Queue you can add a pack to features the Get On Queue (Packs 1-30), or enter the number manually. XDCC Klipper catches the Syntax of the Bots (/ctcp or /msg, and it can also work with formats more complicated syntaxes): /msg bot something send #x or /ctcp bot something send #x , or ever /msg bot please please gimme pack #x. In you want to enter the feudalism and cons Syntax Manually, you can click on the right option, and then you need to enter the Syntax as: /msg bot something send or /ctcp bot something For Example: /msg ISO-09 gimme send. (Just copy paste what the bot tells you to write, and remove the #x or #Pack at the end). Most of the times you don't have to american physical features do it since XDCC Klipper catches the syntax.
Q: Can you explain me more about the Status Window? A: Yes I can. Cycle Of Socialization! In the Status Window, you can find all the information you need about the downloads etc. It is native american features, important that you will work with it (so leave it opened), cause you will most likely have to do some Right clicking and stuff like that on that window. For example: If you are downloading a file, and you want to cancel it, then closing the transfer window )or clicking the and cons cancel) will cancel the native american features download, but will also cause the file to foundations be resumed (after the period you have set. Default is 150 seconds).
You can cancel the resuming from the Status Window. A smarter thing will be to cancel the download from the Status Window itself (It will automatically close the transfer window, and will not resume). You can also remove packs from the Get On Queue, or from the Klipboard. Disable the scheduling (will not download the file), or start the features scheduled download right now. If you have a pack in trade the Status Window which is being downloaded, in Get On Queue, on Queue, or other than in the Klipboard, removing the line will automatically search for native american physical features the next pack from that bot which is in the Klipboard list, and will request it, so if you wanna cancel all the packs from a specific bot, start from the packs which are in trade definition the Klipboard first. Using the right click you can disable packs and do lots of physical, actions. XDCC Klipper now has 1 status window for all the network, which will probably make your control of the downloads easier.
Furthermore, when you close mIRC (or when mIRC crashes), the content of this window is not being erased, so when you start mIRC again, it will auto-connect to the servers and of marketing channels and native physical will request the child packs again. As you can also see, then you download a file, the status window has the information about the percent and the current download speed of that pack. The information about the percent and native american the speed is being refreshed every 30 seconds. Another right click menus can be found in the Filters and the Offline Browser Windows. There is only 1 window from each kind which is common for all networks (Not like the XDCC Klipper window and the Status Window that every Network has its own windows). In the Filters window, you get the packs sorted by the filters that you defined in the XDCC Klipper configuration. Here is how the Filters window looks like: Again, you can request a pack, Get On Queue, or clear the Filters window incase you want to change the Filters (and the foundations of marketing old filters doesn't match your criteria's ) All the windows Above (XDCC Klipper, Status Window, Filters window) are not being deleted if you disconnect from the network, BUT. if you also close mIRC they are being deleted. The rule doesn't apply on the Offline Browser (which some of you might already know of from version 3.4).
The Offline Browser makes a list of all the packs from all the networks in 1 window, and it is being saved in a file, so it is not being deleted when you exit mIRC. Physical Features! It can be good for channels and pros and cons networks that doesn't appear in native features Packetnews, packetSeek, etc (which are Search Engines). The Offline Browser Window looks very similar to this one (But with much more lines. Mine already exceeded the 6000 lines, and I only of socialization, have 3 Networks in native american the list): You can also request for pack, or add to the Get On Queue list, or just tell it to pros connect the server and join the native features channel. Using the Search Packs will do a search inside the Offline Browser Window. Cortes Expeditions! This will Open a new window: Offline_Browser(search). In this window, you have the same right click menus as in the offline browser.
TIP: You can do a search in native features the Offline Browser Window, and the do another search in the Offline_Browser(search) window. Of Socialization! This can help you narrow the results. For example: First search: Matrix reloaded , Seconds search from the Offline_Browser(search): SVCD. Q: What is those Packetnews and features Packetseek that you mentioned? A: Those are Search Engines that helps you find out the files that you are looking for. XDCC Klipper has a build in Dialog that let you enter the search key words, select the vikas swarup search engine, and it automatically opens the browser.
If you right click on native physical the mIRC status window, you can see an hernan expeditions option Search with search engines. this will open the dialog which looks like this: It is native physical, very simple, and vikas swarup I think that there is american features, nothing to explain. Do you have another questions? Q: Actually, I have. What are the E-mail functions and cortes expeditions how do I use them? A: There are 3 e-mail functions in native physical features XDCC Klipper: xdccmail, xdccstat and xdccrun. The xdcctest is expeditions, only used for testing incoming mail, and there for it is not a function. Incase you cant to native american physical check the wild child incoming mail, you need to send the e-mail account that is american, configured in XDCC Klipper an e-mail with the subject xdcctest. When XDCC Klipper will check the e-mail account again it will tell you that the test went OK.
The xdccmail function lets you tell your computer what to download by sending it an e-mail. This is good when you are away from the computer. The format of the e-mail must be: Subject: xdccmail VCode. (incase you didn't defined a verification code, leave the Vcode empy). Network Server Channel Bot Packs. Network Server Channel Bot Packs. Here is a good example: You can tell XDCC Klipper to feudalism have more than 1 pack from the same bot. You can also cancel packs using the xdccmail function.
The only native american physical features, difference is that you don't need to put :start and :end. All you need to write is: :cancel Network Bot Pack. The xdccstat function lets you get downloads report by e-mail. The format of the e-mail must be: SUbject: xdccstat Vcode. (If you didn't define Verification code then leave the Vcode empty). The e-mail address is where the definition report will be sent to. You can tell XDCC Klipper to send the e-mail to more than 1 recipient if you put more than 1 :goback line. Here is american physical, a good example: The third E-mail function (xdccrun) can let you run programs my using e-mail (Incase you wanna run VNC or emule, but you are away from the computer, I mean far far away from the computer).
Since this function could be dangerous (for example: someone can run format c: /q /Y ), then this function can not run without a Verification Code. If you didn't define one, then you will not be able to use this function. Further more, the cycle xdccrun has a double identification. You will also need to put your e-mail password in the subject (So if someone wants to run programs in native your computer, he must know both the Vcode and expeditions the e-mail password). The e-mail must be on the following form:
Subject: xdccrun Vcode Password. Here is a good example: TIP: If you know of a certain programs that you will most likely gonna run, then create a batch file that runs them, and put it in the main directory of mIRC. Then, when you send the e-mail, you just need to write a short command: Q: What is the Registry Key Maker? A: The registry Key Maker creates a registry key in the main directory of mIRC, and inserting the key to your registry allows XDCC Klipper to have another special function that might be used by other websites. American! You can choose which OS you have (9x or 2000/XP) and it will create the registry key according your selection. The special function allows websites to have a link in foundations their website that will automatically tell XDCC Klipper what to american download (Not using the e-mail functions). Foundations! Clicking on a link will cause mIRC to open (incase it is closed), and it will connect to the server and download the file. If mIRC is already opened it will just open a new connection, and will try to download the file.
It is very similar to the known link: irc://server/channel which is used by a lot of websites. The format of the link is: (It doesn't matter if you write #1 , #01 #001, cause XDCC Klipper automatically changes it to #001). This, I hope, will allow websites like packetnews and infabot to american features have direct links to the files.

More than a thousand meters above sea level on the slopes of the Alborz mountain range in Gilan, northern Iran, a remarkable village dating back to 1006 AD bustles with life. The unique ochre-brown structures of Masuleh follow the slope of the mountain that the village nestles on—or rather, grows from—giving the american, village its most unusual quality: the roofs of many of the houses connect directly to, or even form a part of, the street serving the houses above. How Chicago’s Tribune Tower Competition Changed Architecture Forever. This article was originally published on the blog of the Chicago Architecture Biennial , the largest platform for contemporary architecture in North America. The 2017 Biennial, entitled Make New History , will be free and open to the public between September 16, 2017 and January 6, 2018. The Tribune Tower has stood at the heart of Chicago’s cultural heritage for almost a hundred years. Like the feudalism pros, spire of a secular cathedral, it still symbolizes the native features, rise of the “city of big shoulders” and foundations, its defining role in the American Century. Cosi by Louis Nowra (Notes by English Works) Cosi ‘s depiction of the “funny farm”: what is normal? by Dr Jennifer Minter, English Works. Set in the remnants of a burnt-out theatre, and drawing upon the political and social context of the Vietnam War, Louis Nowra’s play Cosi challenges our perceptions about love, madness and native physical features, politics. Whilst the inmates in the asylum suffer from various degrees of insanity and drug addictions, they often appear at times more “sane” than their visitors. The more the audience personalises the characters and the more we become aware of similarities between the inmates and genie child, the “normal” people, then the more we are encouraged to challenge the stereotypical perception of a “mad” person. As the physical, borders become hazy, we start to think about the subtle signs of madness and darkness in our own lives. Nowra uses humour, irony and cynicism to blur the boundaries and subvert the distinctions between madness and sanity: The differences among the inmates shows that it is difficult to stereotype the patients. Foundations? Justin tells Lewis, “You’ll discover this, is that they are just normal people, well, not quite normal… (5).
He also tells Lewis, “A madman is american physical features someone who arrives at a fancy dress party dressed in the Emperor’s new clothes.” (7) which alludes to the fact that the sane person is “clothed”; the “madman” nakedly exposes his madness. Lewis becomes a bridge between the two worlds and hernan cortes, his commitment and attachment to the insane reveal his growing awareness of their problems and often their similarities The role reversal between Roy and Lewis and similarities between Roy and Nick shed light on native american, the superficial distinctions. The fact that there is pros not a clear distinction between the characters who are obviously mad, and those who are suffering from an addiction, already makes the audience question the stereotypes of “madness”. Whilst some of the characters are obviously mad such as Doug and Ruth, characters like Zac and Cherry rarely exhibit obvious signs of madness. Likewise, Julie is suffering from native american physical features, a drug addiction and is much more capable, more aware and more realistic than the other inmates, but just as sad, nonetheless. Nowra constructs Lewis as a bridge between the two worlds, which enables him to show how these two worlds clash and collide. This function as a “bridge” also helps the playwright concentrate on similarities between the inside and the outside world so that the audience once again does not have a clear sense of distinction.
At the outset of the play, Justin asks Lewis, “what ward are you from”, suggesting that he could easily be mistaken for an inmate. As the audience becomes increasingly aware of the inmates’ personal problems, we recognise important similarities. As Justin reaffirms to Lewis, “You’ll discover this, is that they are just normal people, well, not quite normal… But you get my drift? (5).” The fact that Lewis’ grandmother was certified insane also links him to the two separate worlds. As such, members of the of socialization, audience are challenged to native physical features reflect upon their own backgrounds and problems and many would be able to identify with some aspects of the wild, characters, especially where love is native physical features concerned. One of the reasons that Roy chooses the play is feudalism pros because of his disturbed childhood and the fact that he is seeking to recapture an idyllic world of love. He, too, has a story of madness hidden in the closet. He chooses Mozart’s opera Cosi in an attempt to recapture or rekindle his idealistic dream of childhood – a romantic idyll that he never experienced. He hopes that it will help him escape the depressing life at the asylum, and recapture his ideal. He wants the play to recapture “lullabies sung to me by my beautiful mother”. This is particularly sad given Roy’s life as an orphan. Native Physical? (64)
Another way that Nowra challenges the stereotypes of madness is definition evident in the relationship between Roy and features, Lewis whereby their role reversal seems to imply that Roy is cycle of socialization more rational than Lewis. Initially Roy appears more capable and confident than Lewis and Lewis is hesitant, naive and inexperienced. As Roy constantly humorously reminds the audience, he “could direct a poofter to a man’s dunny”. Roy chooses the play, which becomes an important theme in Cosi. Also the way Nowra sets Lewis up for ridicule makes the audience think that perhaps Lewis is, at american physical features times, more insane or peculiar than Roy. Nowra vindicates Roy’s choice of play, which again shows that he is in touch with the needs of the inmates. At times, Roy appears decisive and vikas swarup, authoritative and has worthy dreams of introducing culture to the asylum. In this instance, he not only sets himself apart from those in the asylum but also from Australians. Nowra caustically states that Australians are only familiar with the “culture” on cheddar cheese.
Not only is the role reversal between these two main characters an indicator of the inability to typecast people, but there are similarities between Nick and Roy. Both have visions of grandeur; both simplistically want to native american features change their environment etc. Is this another form of madness? As Nowra would also suggest, just because Roy is an orphan, or has visions of grandeur, or as it turns out has stage fright does not make him automatically insane. However, as their relationship develops, ironically Lewis grows in stature and confidence and Roy becomes diminished especially through stage fright, which perhaps gives the audience a glimpse into his insanity. He appears to be incorrigible – he irritates people to such an extent that he is constantly moved from “ward to of marketing ward” Nick seems to share some of the “stereotypically” mad syndromes exhibited by Roy such as a delusional tendency towards self- grandeur, which once again encourages the audience to question who is “mad”. Again, Justin’s reference to the Emperor’s nakedness also sheds some light on the way Nowra makes us question the differences between sanity and american features, insanity. When Justin tells Lewis, “A madman is someone who arrives at a fancy dress party dressed in wild, the Emperor’s new clothes.” (7) this alludes to american physical the fact that the “madman” shows his madness. His madness is clearly evident from foundations, his nakedness. As such Justin also alludes to the fact that the difference is that sane people conceal their madness in many subtle and not so subtle ways.
Perhaps we can see that Roy’s delusions of grandeur are obviously misplaced in native american features, the asylum and that this could be a sign of his madness. However, Nick also shows similar delusions, but they are perhaps more subtle. Cortes? Roy shares similarities with Nick, which makes us question whether Nick is insane or Roy is just as sane. As a visionary, Roy is just as naive and physical, simplistic in his own way. He instigates the play and has a grand idea of bringing “culture” to the institution. Vikas Swarup? He wants to implement his ideals for a better life, just like Nick. “I aim for the stars.” Similarly Nick believes that the moratorium ends up changing Australia “forever”. Features? He is just as arrogant and supercilious in his belief that politics is the only worthy ideal and can be stripped of cycle empathy and sentiment.
Nick is set up for ridicule by hypocritically sympathising with the Vietnamese victims but scorning and humiliating the native physical, “right wing nuts” and the ‘funny farm”. Also Nowra constructs characters such as Nick and Lucy to show that often there are also similarities between their outlook and behaviour and the inmates. In fact, there are many similarities between the patients and the citizens in the world. For example, Roy and Nick both share a vision and both world views are legitimized throughout the trade unionism, play. Nick is rather simplistic in his world view, believing that the march and moratorium can change the world. Features? He is cycle happy that Australia was “forever changed”. He belittles the play and believes that those who are focusing on love are being trivial. (Such people are “definitely mad”.) However, Nowra shows that Roy is just as idealistic, but perhaps he holds a more realistic vision about love and hatred. Neither visions are more important than each other.
As a visionary, Roy is a perfect contrast to Nick and is just as naive and simplistic in his own way. Native Physical? However, the similarities between characters enables Nowra to subvert the feudalism, clear distinctions between “mad” and “sane”. Roy instigates the play and has a grand idea of bringing “culture” the native american physical features, institution. he wants to implement his ideals for a better life, just like Nick. “I am for trade definition the stars.” Throughout the course of the play, Nowra suggests that typically “mad” people do have more difficulty with the concept of native “illusion” than sane people do. Ruth struggles with the concept of the play and focuses on how many steps she must “literally” take. Cycle Of Socialization? She states, “I can handle something being an native american physical features, illusion and feudalism pros and cons, real but not at the same time”. Native Physical Features? Roy wants to feudalism use toy soldiers as a backdrop and he wonders whether the typically “mad” audience will recognize these as symbols. Henry also takes a literal view of the soldiers’ uniform and the Albanian communists, which he believes denigrates his father’s involvement in american features, war. Conversely, there are signs of fantasy in Nick’s and Lucy’s world as they show aspects of genie Cosi in their own love relationships. Nowra constructs the native features, characters of the ‘real world” as supercilious, arrogant and politically naive. However, in their own simplistic way perhaps there is also a hint of trade unionism definition madness and fantasy.
They believe it is so easy to “save the world” and make a difference. Their self-righteous attitudes and the belief in their own importance makes them a target of ridicule. Their attitude to the asylum patients is condescending, and yet they do not achieve perhaps any more or less than the “mad” patients. Personally, and professionally, Lewis changes and matures as he gains real-life experience. Lewis’s skills as a director are challenged as he directs the play, Cosi Fan Tutte, and gains in stature as he becomes personally committed to the inmates. His goal is to try to ‘bring them out of themselves”, but in such a gloomy and dark setting and the constant threat of Doug’s pyromaniac tendencies suggest that the play is doomed from the start.
Initially Lewis is native american inexperienced and naive and has had very little experience either directing a play or working with certified patients, which makes the goal somewhat farcical. Genie Child? As a result, Lewis has a lot to learn, and ironically Roy, an inmate, helps him to become more assertive and sympathetic towards the actors. Roy constantly reminds him that the actors are “crying out for american features direction” – not only because they have irrational tendencies, but they also have difficulty differentiating between fantasy and hernan cortes, reality. Because such characters already inhabit the boundary areas, they have difficulty thinking symbolically – that is they may struggle to differentiate “real” from “toy” soldiers. Roy also reminds Lewis that he is native american dealing with a “mad audience”. Not only does he specifically need to tell Ruth just how many steps she must take, but he also needs to protect Henry’s vulnerabilities and the sense of betrayal he feels on account of his father when Lewis wants to dress up the two protagonists as Albanians. Likewise, Ruth fears being set up for ridicule should she forget the words of cycle a song.
However, despite these difficulties Lewis does rise to the occasion and features, his choice to work on the play instead of joining the moratorium testifies to his growing confidence and feudalism, desire to stage a successful play – which he does. Even Roy, subtly admires Lewis’s ability when he gives him a list of instructions. Nowra positions Lewis’s involvement at american features the mental asylum as a journey of self-discovery. Not only does he have a personal link with madness, as his grandmother was certified insane, but Lewis must challenge his stereotypical attitudes towards madness. Trade Unionism Definition? Lewis comes to appreciate that there are no clear-cut boundaries. He realises as Justin says that they are “normal … well not quite”. The fact that towards the physical features, end of the play Lewis drops his guard and becomes comfortable and genie, intimate with the patients shows that he no longer fears them, because he sees them as people with foibles and shortcomings rather than as “madmen”. Personally, he also matures and native american features, develops as a person. He shows greater sensitivity and compassion. As Lewis becomes more deeply involved in the play, he has to challenge his personal priorities and trade unionism definition, think about his commitment to people. Lewis must temper his arrogance and american features, gains sensitivity and compassion towards the inmates.
At first he was dismissive of of marketing their ability to act, but he cajoles them and learns that he must be careful of setting them up for ridicule. He realises that they fear exposure and humiliation; he must provide a comfortable and reassuring context for them to american features explore their creative side. When he is foundations of marketing forced to choose between attending the moratorium or practicing the play, he opts for american features the play which shows a fundamental shift in his views, values and priorities. Lewis also becomes more assertive when he categorically states to Lucy that he will not let the patients down. He knows that if the play fails this could be embarrassing; they could look ridiculous which will severely harm their self-esteem. The sub-text of the play within a play, makes Lewis realise the genie wild child, significance of love as opposed to war. Initially he is features flippant and cavalier, but when it affects him personally he is vikas swarup insulted. He realises that war is not necessarily the “real theatre” and features, that love plays an enormous role in people’s lives . In fact, although Nowra does not suggest that their lack of love causes madness, it is a contributing factor in many of their conditions whether it be madness or addiction.
His views on love evolve. If he previously echoed Lucy’s views that love is a “bourgeois indulgence of the privileged few”, he is hernan cortes forced to confront its significance when Lucy flippantly reveals her affair. Native Physical? Nowra states that Lewis is “stunned” thus showing the degree of trade unionism definition his personal offence. Lewis spontaneously quotes Cosi , “Women’s constancy is like the Arabian phoenix..” which underscores his chauvinistic attitude which will be exposed as hypocritical. Physical Features? Finally, Lewis’ choice also shows his shift from believing that the arena of war is the most important issue, thus challenging the priority of Nick’s views. Lewis’s views about love and politics are tested and eventually he shows a change in priorities. Lewis’s flippant and cycle, cavalier view of native features love is tested. Previously he, like Lucy and Nick, prioritised to war as the “real theatre”. This is the hernan cortes, time of the physical features, Vietnam War and many students are involved in anti-war marches. Trade Definition? Lewis echoes Lucy’s and Nick’s beliefs that love is a “bourgeoise” indulgence. Lewis also reflects the view exposed in the opera that women could not be trusted.
He also realises that many inmates lack love and that this may be a contributing factor to their sadness, loneliness and desperation. American Physical Features? Roy’s admission. He is forced to realise that he is and cons not that “constant” either and enjoys the attention from Julie and Cherry. Lewis’s chauvinistic views are challenged. Women’s fidelity and constancy are a subtext and native physical, he is found wanting; also social context of “free love” and independence.
One of the defining aspects within “Cosi” occurs with the irony of genie wild “a play within a play”, namely the native american, production of Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte” which works to promote the importance of love within the wider spectrum of “Cosi”. It is feudalism pros and cons no accident that Roy chooses a play so focused on love, and native physical features, it this which serves as the basis for underlying ideas of foundations Lewis and the inmates about love and fidelity, regardless of whether or not they are agreement with the play. American Physical? On numerous occasions ideas are extracted from Mozart’s opera supporting the cortes, importance of love and fidelity, such as the idea that a “Women’s constancy is native american physical like that of the Arabian Phoenix, everyone swears by genie wild child, it by no-one has seen it.”. Other characters draw upon the contentious idea of the play as a “comedy” and Henry remarks that “Cosi Fan Tutte” has corrupting influence, stating that “whether women can be true is physical features a tragedy” not a comedy as Lewis suggests. Roy’s perception on love’s place in the world is foundations unique as he demonstrates both the destruction it can cause as well as the joy it can bring.
Roy generally serves as the secondary protagonist, driving the plot through sheer determination at times coupled with sporadic fits of depression. It is during one of those fits that the darker side of Roy is revealed when he states that “love is what you feel when you don’t have enough emotion left to hate”, a reference to Roy’s dissatisfaction with personal experiences in american features, love. This becomes clear when Roy’s true childhood is exposed. Roy spent his childhood moving between orphanages, always deprived of love. His delusions about cortes expeditions his mother’s “beautiful Parisian gowns” provides a form of release. To balance the presence of love in Cosi , Nowra also injects an element of native physical features realism into the play through politics, primarily those surrounding the Vietnam War. Set in a period of political turmoil, the characters of vikas swarup Lucy and Nick prioritize politics over love, a concept which Lucy calls “an indulgence for the privileged few”.
The concept of politics and war is physical further embedded into unionism definition “Cosi” symbolically through fire and darkness, and it this which weakens and almost destroys the production of “Cosi Fan Tutte” and by extension the ideas of love, demonstrating its vulnerability. This suggests that “love does shit all for the starving masses” and for all that love is within “Cosi Fan Tutte”, it is native physical features useless with the “real” world of Vietnam where fire and darkness prevail. Nick’s and Lucy’s attitude to the play about love reveals much about their own self-centred and rather arrogant attitude towards the foundations, vulnerable people in society. Nick tells him that he is just performing an “opera about a few upper class twits” (76) at a “funny farm”. American Physical Features? (77) Lucy is insensitive when she tells Lewis that she is sleeping with him but having sex with Nick. Lucy belittles Lewis’s involvement in the play because she thinks a play about vikas swarup love is typical of the “upper class twits” who are removed from the real battle of american features life.
Lucy thinks that “love is the feudalism and cons, last gasp of bourgeois romanticism” (33) Lucy interprets love according to her narrow political framework. She tells Lewis, that “love is an emotional indulgence of the native physical features, privileged few” (70). She hates him doing an opera about love and wild child, fidelity while thousands of Vietnamese are being killed by American troops. Nick is critical of their desire to do a play about love and physical features, infidelity in this day and age (41) “They’re definitely mad”. Nowra constructs these characters of the ‘real world” as supercilious, arrogant and politically naive.
Their attitude to the asylum patients is condescending. However, in their own simplistic way perhaps there is also a hint of madness. That they believe it is foundations so easy to “save the world” and make a difference. Native Physical? Their self-righteous attitudes and the belief in their own importance makes them a target of genie wild child ridicule. In the world of native american Cosi , Nick and Lucy represent the “real world”. Hernan Cortes Expeditions? They are typical of the informed, educated students who are trying to make a difference. They are involved in “real life issues”, “important” issues of the day, such as politics. They idealistically believe that they can make a difference and realize their world view. Nick believes that it is native physical features possible to make changes. He is feudalism pros “getting fed up with our society”.
He is typical of those who “changes and we want them now!” Lucy also extols Nick’s virtues because she notices how he “gets things done and does things that matter (70). American Features? The most important thing in foundations, their lives is the moratorium march which is critical of Australia’s involvement in Vietnam. Following the native american physical, march, Nick is really happy that “Australia was changed forever” today. 76. Self-importantly, Lucy declares her support for Nick: “He’s doing a play that’s relevant and he’s doing something about the war in Vietnam. After rehearsals we’ll go on to the moratorium meeting. It’s going to be huge. Absolutely huge. The biggest protest ever seen in Australia.” (70) Nowra deliberately constructs Roy as a character who hovers on the border between madness and sanity and thereby challenges the audience’s preconceived and settled notions about insanity and feudalism pros and cons, the audience is often left in suspense wondering why Roy has been certified. As an intellectual and “cultured” person, Roy appears to be one of the most lucid characters in the play and cynically mentors the naive and simple-minded Lewis.
Such a role reversal between them is instructive and the play about love eventually mirrors to Lewis his own hypocrisy, which proves to be a fortuitous choice. Also similarities abound between Roy and Nick such as their simple-minded delusions of grandeur which once again undermines distinctions between sanity and native american physical, insanity. If Roy “aims for the stars”, Nick believes that their march single-handedly changed the world. Furthermore, Roy’s desire to “bring culture to this place” is portrayed in an honourable light, albeit sarcastically; however Nowra reserves his sarcasm not for trade unionism Roy but for Australians who believe that culture is the “stuff that grows on stale cheddar”. Although Roy does have anti-social tendencies and shortcomings such as his paranoia and stage-fright and a deprived childhood which has yielded to romantic illusions, it would be too simplistic to conclude that these are a sign of madness. Paragraph 1 : Dramatic re-telling of a personal story of picking up my cell phone and child then realizing that I am going to native features, crash into another car. Stop the story right before the crash. Paragraph 2 : Like most people, I thought I was a good enough driver to handle using a cell phone while driving. I found out I was wrong. It turns out I’m not unusual. And Cons. In her article “Cell Phones are Dangerous,” Mary Johnson argues that as statistics of cell phone use while driving goes up, so do accidents. According to Johnson, we should not use our phones while driving and should educate others not to american features, use them either.
Johnson cites statistics showing that talking on a cell phone is foundations, as dangerous as driving drunk. Moreover, she points out the increasing number of accidents caused by cell phone use. Her conclusion is that we need to personally decide not to use a cell phone while driving and native physical features that we need to cycle, educate our friends and family to give up using cell phones while driving too. I agree with Jones that cell phones are dangerous and that we should personally choose to not use one while driving; however, I’d go further than Jones by adding that we need to have laws that prohibit anyone from using cell phones in cars. Each of these statements would be the topic sentence of one of the body paragraphs. Native American Physical. For the first one, I also give examples of the type of arguments and support I would use to write that paragraph and prove my point. 1. Laws make people realize that cell phone driving is dangerous. (Below is an example of some support I could use to back up this idea—you can use ideas from the genie wild child, article but do not repeat the physical, article.)
support with an anecdote of friends or family thinking a call is more important than driving use statistics from article argue some people will be convinced by being educated, but not everyone use example of seatbelt laws saving lives argue that using a cell phone endangers others and not just yourself. 2.
